He Vowed He'd Come For Her...
Murdered before he could wed Regin the Radiant, warlord Aidan the Fierce seeks his beloved through eternity, reborn again and again into new identities, yet with no memory of his past lives.
She Awaits His Return...
When Regin encounters Declan Chase, a brutal Celtic soldier, she recognizes her proud warlord reincarnated. But Declan takes her captive, intending retribution against all immortals—unaware that he belongs to their world.
To Sate A Desire More Powerful Than Death...
Yet every reincarnation comes with a price, for Aidan is doomed to die when he remembers his past. To save herself from Declan’s torments, will Regin rekindle memories of the passion they once shared—even if it means once again losing the only man she could ever love?
I love how Cole weaves the plot lines of all the characters in her Immortals After Dark series. Really you need an org chart to keep up with how the stories intersect. It’s almost like Cole is telling one story from different POVs. Most of the plots of the books are happening parallel to each other and I love that you get to learn some details about past characters and teases on up coming characters.
Before I get into Aidan and Regin let me give a shout out to Nix! She is not the best character of the series?! She’s so crazy and she puts all the other characters through hell. LOL And now Nix has a pet bat. Well why not. She is bat shit crazy after all. LOL
FINALLY Regin gets her HEA! After Nix, Regin is my favorite Valkyrie. And after listening to Dreams of a Dark Warrior I love her even more. Regin has had a real crappy love life. She fines her mate only to lose him over and over. After so much heart ache a person can only take so much before they say screw it and give up. But not Regin, she keeps hoping that one day she will get to keep her man.
Chase is the present day Aidan. And quite possibly the darkest version of Aidan to date. All the things he does to the people of the Lore and to Regin it’s hard to love him but Cole really developed a great character with all kinds of shades of gray. Chase is not your clean-cut good or evil character. Sure he can be a heartless bastard when it comes to hunting down Lore folk but when he meets Regin he starts to see the error of his ways.
I really enjoyed seeing Regin and Chase work through their issues in Dreams of a Dark Warrior. Their story had it all; sweetness, smoking attraction, snarky on liners, betrayal, loyalty, and romance. It was definitely an emotional roller coaster.
