I've battled the Reapers of Chaos before—and survived. But this time I have a Bad, Bad Feeling it's going to be a fight to the death. . .most likely mine.

Yeah, I've got my psychometry magic, my talking sword, Vic, and even the most dangerous Spartan on campus at my side in Logan freaking Quinn, but I'm no match for Loki, the evil Norse god of chaos. I may be Nike's Champion, but at heart, I'm still just Gwen Frost, that weird Gypsy girl everyone at school loves to gossip about.

Then someone I love is put in more danger than ever before, and something inside me snaps. This time, Loki and his Reapers are going down for good . . . or I am. Praise for the international bestselling Mythos Academy series

Gwen, Daphne, Logan and the rest of the Mythos gang take one last wild ride through the halls of Mythos Academy in the last installment, Killer Frost. Estep gives us an action packed conclusion with some darker times but with some of the same snark and humor we’ve grown to love from the students at Mythos, and of course there’s baked goodies from Grandma Frost’s kitchen.

Everyone is on the final battle to take Loki down. Even band geek Carson. But before all Gwen’s friends can step in to help her, she tries her best to save everyone on her own…..

Logan gave me a disgusted look. “So you just decided to go off by yourself? You’d think by now that you’d learn your lesson, but you never seem to, do you, Gwen?

“And what lesson would that be?” My own voice sharpened in response to his cold tone.

He stared at me.

“That people care about you, that people love you, that I love you, and that I would do anything to help you – anything.”

Those darn stubborn heroines. Thinking they have to do it all alone. Daphne, Logan and the others aren’t having it and they work together to fight on the side of good to take down Loki and his evil minions.

If you’ve read the previous book, Midnight Frost then you know that the series has gotten a little darker as the end nears and Killer Frost is even darker. But hey you can’t have a war with an evil, blood thirsty God without some sadness and death.

Gwen faces Loki in the final battle that she’s been training for but will everyone make it out alive?  You’ll just have to pick up Killer Frost by Jennifer Estep to find out. Don’t worry, Jennifer Estep wraps up all the loose ends and gives a very satisfying look at what will no doubt be a future full of HEAs for the students and teachers at Mythos. Overall I thought Killer Frost was the best book in the series with tons of action and a nice ending.

There’s a nice letter to the readers at the end from Estep and while I don’t get too sappy I did get a little teary eyed while reading the letter about the series ending. But like Estep said in the letter never say never, we just might see a new story in the future from the Mythos world.

YA is not a genre I typically read but I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Gwen and her friends. If you’re looking for a snarky YA that’s filled with Greek Mythology and teens with powers and know how to swing a sword, you should try the Mythos Academy by starting with book 1, Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep.
