Beth Ann needed a hero...

Beth Ann Williamson is done with her on-again, off-again fiancé. The problem? No one in her small town believes that it’s really over. Beth Ann is determined to show Bluebonnet, Texas, that she can take care of herself. But her plans go awry when she gets stranded in the woods and has to be saved by a handsome, if scowling, Marine.

She got more than she bargained for...

Survivalist Colt Waggoner is not pleased when he’s sent to rescue the pampered princess, and he’s even more annoyed when Beth Ann isn’t grateful for his help. He decides to teach the sexy blonde a lesson—a weekend alone in the wild. Just the two of them, in muddy, wet clothing that needs to come off... But Beth Ann is not as spoiled as he thought. And when she propositions him for a one-night stand, he knows he should turn it down, because this alpha male might need more than one night to satisfy him...

Beth Ann and Colt knew each other in high school. Beth Ann was the popular cheerleading type while Colt was labeled as white trash because of his home life. Years later the two meet again and they can’t keep their lust for each other under control.

Colt still has a clip on his shoulder about how the town sees him and his family. He left Bluebonnet to make something out of him and to put distance between him and his family. But some of the citizens in Bluebonnet still see him as white trash.

Beth Ann is smothering under her family’s control and the town of Bluebonnet. She’s no longer with her fiancé but the town’s people just know that she will get back with him because they are so perfect for each other. But what they don’t know is that the ex-fiancé is a cheating dirty bag.

I think the added element of the ex-fiancé added to plot every well and helped Beth Ann and Colt over come of the old issues they had. It really helped Colt see Beth Ann in a new light.

Jillian Macie’s delivery is spot on for the series. She has a perky and sassy voice that works well for the female characters. Jillian does an ok job with the male characters. I will continue the series on audio.

The Bluebonnet series is an erotic masquerading as a sweet contemporary. Don’t let the covers, titles and summaries fool you. This series has some serious heat to it! I recommend Jessica Clare’s Bluebonnet series to romance readers that wish they got a little more heat with their small town romances.

About Jessica Clare

Jessica Clare

Jessica Clare is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author who writes under three different names. As Jill Myles, she writes a little bit of everything, from sexy, comedic urban fantasy to zombie fairy tales. As Jessica Clare, she writes erotic contemporary romance.

She also has a third pen name (because why stop at two?). As Jessica Sims, she writes fun, sexy shifter paranormals. She lives in Texas with her husband, cats, and too many dust-bunnies. Jill spends her time writing, reading, writing, playing video games, and doing even more writing.
